A message to my clients
I have been working in Mental Health for 8 years. Prior to working as a psychotherapist and addictions counselor, I worked as a grief counselor in a hospice setting and a crisis worker for a government agency. I believe it is important to tailor therapy for each unique individual. Some people come into therapy looking to talk things through, while others are interested in a more active approach including homework, and I am happy to accommodate either. My primary modalities of treatment are acceptance and commitment therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy. I also have additional training in mindfulness, motivational interviewing and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy.
I aim to provide a nonjudgmental and peaceful environment in which to work through issues. I believe that each of us does the best we can in any given moment, based on the variables in our lives at the time; and at the same time, I believe that we all have room for improvement. I take a holistic approach to wellness that includes body, mind and spirit.
