Credence Therapy & Associates

Credence Therapy Associates is a state certified mental health and substance abuse clinic that was established in the mid 1990s. 
Our main office is in Elkhorn, Wisconsin with an additional 9 in-school branch offices in the local and surrounding community elementary through high schools. 
Credence Therapy Associates was developed as a partnership between Mark Mohapp and Karen Petta who began Credence Counseling Center in Elkhorn in 1992 and Kim Steen who opened Credence Therapy Associates one year later.  The combined clinic was thus named Credence Therapy Associates.  The clinic has always had strong community involvement in our local schools, our local court system, more specifically family court as we created the Child’s Best Interest Program working with children and their parents in high conflict divorce cases.  Our therapists are often called upon to provide presentations in the community addressing mental health and substance abuse issues that directly impact those living in our area. The current staff include 12 licensed therapists, psychiatrist Dr. SooHoo who has been with Credence since the clinic was established, and Dr. Carolyn Davidson, Nurse Practitioner through American Behavioral Health specializing in children and adolescents who need supportive medication evaluation and management services. 
While Mark and Petta left Credence Therapy and Associates long ago, Owner Kim Steen has maintained the the organization and its dedication to serving the community in Elkhorn and the greater Walworth County.
